cancer survival

The same diet that helps prevent cancer may be useful in cancer treatment. Beneficial effects of a plant-based diet on cancer growth can be measured in blood in as little as two weeks. Specific foods like soy (before and after diagnosis), mushrooms (particularly large white ones), broccoli, flax, and berries may all be beneficial for cancer survivors. The benefits of fruit and vegetable consumption may only be seen at higher intakes, though. Reducing ones intake of saturated fat and trans fat appears to extend disease-free survival.
