Part-Time Nutrition Research Writer
Position Overview:
The Nutrition Research Writer reviews the peer-reviewed literature on nutrition topics for the purposes of writing scripts for short videos on NutritionFacts.org. Primary responsibilities include conducting comprehensive literature reviews on a given topic and creating engaging video scripts using an established protocol to be edited and narrated by Dr. Greger and turned into new videos posted on NutritionFacts.org.
The Nutrition Research Writer has an established background of searching, reading, and analyzing research literature and is detail-oriented, creative, articulate, familiar with the content on NutritionFacts.org, and passionate about our mission.
Responsibilities:
- Find, review, and analyze the peer-reviewed medical and nutrition literature on a variety of pre-selected topics.
- Create a synthesis of the science on a specific topic and write a fully cited and annotated script to instruct motion graphic designers on how to create videos using an established protocol.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience reading and analyzing the peer-reviewed medical literature
- Experience writing, preferably in a medical/nutrition field
- Familiarity with NutritionFacts.org content
- Experience working independently in a remote setting
- Ability to communicate ideas effectively with a remote team
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet established deadlines
- Professional medical and/or nutrition background
This is a part-time, contract position. The role is fully remote and international candidates are encouraged to apply.
Location: Remote
Pay: $500 per completed 500 to 1100 word script (average is 800 words)
Workload: a minimum of 15 hours a week
