Freelance Contract Position: Motion Graphics Video Designer

Role and Responsibilities

NutritionFacts.org is seeking a freelancer to help create and design our videos. We post new videos every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and are looking to spice them up with added motion graphics and other creative stylistic elements. The mission
of NutritionFacts.org is to directly show the science, and so it’s very important that we continue to have videos that display and highlight academic journal articles, but would like to add new and engaging elements. This role would involve creating the actual video with heavy guidance from Dr. Greger, but does not include any of the scripting, narration, or recording. Our videos range from 4-7 minutes long, and we are able to pay around $400 per video.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years experience with video editing and motion graphics
  • Access to and experience with video editing software such as Adobe After Effects
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed

Full-Time Remote Staff Position: Volunteer Director

Role

The volunteer director at NutritionFacts is in charge of managing remote volunteer projects, and creating a sustainable, friendly volunteer community by recruiting and retaining the best volunteers around the world. They will define new volunteer
projects and use creative ways to source and recruit outstanding and committed individuals. This position will also be responsible for managing content on NutritionFacts.org; uploading the daily videos and blogs, and finding site images, as
many of these responsibilities involve volunteers.

The ideal candidate is passionate about evidence-based nutrition, and thrives in a goal-driven environment. They should have experience with volunteer management, feel confident working in remote teams, and are very organized and self-motivated.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 2+ years of volunteer or other leadership experience
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
  • An aptitude for learning new software
  • Proficiency with Office suite, especially Excel
  • Proficiency with Google apps such as Docs, Sheets, and Groups

NutritionFacts.org is seeking a full-time Social Media Director to join its team online. This professional is self-motivated, organized, insightful, creative, and experienced in publishing content and growing audiences across key social platforms.

The right person would be able to identify and craft compelling science-based posts to share with a diverse audience. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work on exciting nutrition and health-related topics while helping the digital
presence of an online nonprofit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Focus in journalism, communications, marketing or related fields preferred
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in social media management and building communities
  • An understanding of, and ability to articulate how different social platforms can advance editorial strategies; and how to shape content to advantage the strength of each
  • Skilled in the use of social media management and tracking tools, in particular Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics and Hootsuite or Buffer

NutritionFacts.org is seeking a full-time director of development. The Development Director maintains NutritionFacts.org user and supporter relations, manages donations, submits NutritionFacts.org annual state-by-state nonprofit registrations,
and encourages supporter and general NutritionFacts.org user engagement.

  • Proficiency using new software (you will be using a database management system to track donations, Microsoft Office, online management tools, and database applications)

  • Maintain accurate information in CiviCRM database and ensure effective use of database including donation entry, reporting, and production of supporter acknowledgement letters

  • Maintain annual state-by-state non-profit registration status

(C) Engage users

  • Develop creative ways to engage supporters
  • Delegate and manage help tickets that come in through Zendesk
