Host a Screening Event
Share the latest in evidence-based nutrition with your community by hosting a free screening of Dr. Michael Greger’s “How Not to Die”, “Evidence-Based Weight Loss“, or “How Not to Age” presentation. Each video runs for approximately one hour. Your free Digital Event Kit will include the video, an introduction to NutritionFacts, a fun trivia game for attendees (not included in the How Not to Age screening kit), and tips for hosting. Each screening event is approximately two hours long.
By providing this fun and educational event kit, we hope to make it easier than ever to spread the message about evidence-based eating.

You can also share the event on other social media platforms, such as Instagram. In addition to creating social media events, we have also included promotional materials in this kit that you can print out and share in your community. We recommend posting them on community boards in places like coffee shops, event centers, restaurants, and colleges with permission. We also recommend connecting with local groups who may be interested in helping promote the event.
We recommend organizing the event 4 – 6 weeks ahead of time.
Yes. We just kindly ask that you keep the event free for others to attend.
Nothing. Do your best to find a venue that will allow you to host the event for free. We don’t require you to pay anything to use our materials and share the information.
Yes. We want this life saving information to be free and available to everyone! Suggested donations to NutritionFacts.org, your own non-profit organization, or the venue are welcome, but should not be made mandatory for admission.
Yes. Anyone can view them at any time: Dr. Greger’s Live Presentations
The philosophy behind these events is assuming that there will be people at the event (in some cases most people) who haven’t previously seen it. It’s simply an alternative way to reach them with this information in a structured community-oriented setting. For those that have already seen it, they’re able to watch it as a community among fans, meet new people, perhaps catch something new in the presentation, and play a game of trivia.
The feedback for these events has been overwhelmingly positive overall from those who haven’t seen it and those that have. People all over the world are learning new things, feeling inspired to eat healthier, and are connecting with their community.
That depends on the venue. If they allow it, consider making dishes from the How Not to Die Cookbook or our Recipes page. Please only serve green-light foods at the event. Basically, real food that grows out of the ground. For more information, please view our “Dining by Traffic Light” video.
Unfortunately not. Serving food is not required for the event, but we would love if you made and served healthy dishes to the attendees and it will likely attract more people.
Examples of places that may be open to hosting are community centers, places of worship, parks, auditoriums, or even your own backyard. Ensure that the venue has what you need for the screening, including a projector and/or large television, projector screen if needed, speakers, and plenty of chairs. Ideally consider venues that will allow you to host the screening for free. Consider parking and share details about parking with your guests so they know what to expect. Mention that this is a free, educational event supported by a non-profit organization. Please indicate that you are a NutritionFacts.org volunteer.
The presentations are available in MP4 format, HD resolution. We currently offer the presentations in English with or without subtitles, Spanish subtitles, or a variety of other languages. Please ensure that the video is playable on your computer or whichever device you plan to screen the presentation on beforehand. We recommend using VLC Media Player, which is free.

We suggest not hosting a Q&A after to avoid participants asking medical or nutrition questions you may not know the answer to. Please refer whoever is asking the question to seek the answer on the website, an upcoming Live Online Q&A with Dr. Greger, or ask the question in a comments section on the website.
No. It should be completely free for you to organize and for everyone to attend.
