Legacy Giving

When you include NutritionFacts.org (NF) in your will or name NF as a beneficiary of your living trust, you ensure that your hopes for our future thrive and your support for evidence-based nutrition continues.

You can leave a legacy by naming NutritionFacts.org a beneficiary in your will of:

• a specific dollar amount or estate property
• a specific percentage of your estate
• a specific percentage of your residuary estate (the % remaining after all other bequests and/or expenses have been paid)

Your attorney may opt to use the following language when making an endowment to NutritionFacts.org:

“I give, devise, and bequeath to NutritionFacts.org, a nonprofit organization with federal tax identification number 05-0559626, located at 6800 Wisconsin Avenue #1185, Chevy Chase, MD 20815, the sum of $___ (or the property and/or portion of the estate) to be used for its general purposes.”

When you name NutritionFacts.org as a beneficiary of your living trust, your gift takes effect immediately upon your passing and is revocable. To name NF as a trustee, you must transfer ownership of specified assets from your name to NutritionFacts.org. You will continue to have use of all those assets, while knowing that they will one day support our important work. Please share these details with your attorney when completing your legal documents:

Stock Gifts

We’ve partnered with Stock Donator to provide a secure, fast, web-enabled service that allows NutritionFacts.org to accept gifts of publicly traded stock. When you make a stock donation, you receive a donation credit and immediate income tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of transfer. You pay no capital gains tax on the securities you donate. Please consult with your financial advisor on any IRS filing requirements.

To donate stock:

1. Navigate to www.stockdonator.com and fill out a short online form with your contact information, NutritionFacts.org as the nonprofit you want to support, the stock ticker symbol, and the number of shares. Please have your brokerage account details available.
2. After collecting the relevant information, Stock Donator will generate any required forms and coordinate directly with your financial institution. Some institutions may use Medallion Signatures as an additional means to validate your donation request. If so, this will be facilitated by Stock Donator.
3. Stock Donator will receive the stock from your financial institution, liquidate it, transfer the funds to us, and also provide you with a written acknowledgement of your donation.

PayPal Giving Fund

The PayPal Giving Fund is a registered 501(c)3 public charity that partners with such major platforms as GoFundMe, Meta, and Twitch to allow individuals to make tax-deductible donations to the nonprofit organization of their choosing. Donate your time! NutritionFacts.org relies on volunteers to share their skills, expertise, and time in a variety of ways—such as creating translated subtitles for videos, monitoring our social media, reviewing rough cuts of videos, and more.
