Part-Time Editorial Assistant
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, part-time Editorial Assistant to support our content team while maintaining high editorial standards across a range of materials. This role requires an ability to transform spoken and visual content into written materials; citationing, copyediting, proofreading, and editing skills; and excellent attention to detail. Writing experience is a plus, but a keen eye and a commitment to accuracy are paramount.
This is a long-term, part-time, remote position averaging 20 hours per week with the potential to grow to include a wider range of tasks and additional hours over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of self-published books by reworking video scripts. This involves referencing sources to properly quote studies, drafting copy to describe visual elements, matching the written style and voice of NutritionFacts.org and our staff; generating citations and properly inserting endnotes; and helping to prepare draft manuscripts.
- Copyedit and proofread a variety of content, including email blasts, blogs, webpages, social media posts, and campaign announcements.
- Convert video scripts into fully cited blogs and articles.
- Edit and format transcripts for clarity and readability.
- Generate citations following NutritionFacts.org’s style.
- Assist with quality control for all content, ensuring consistency in language, formatting, and data presentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Extremely strong attention to detail and the highest commitment to quality
- Ability to translate spoken and visual content into clear written language
- Experience with copyediting or proofreading in a professional or academic setting
- Ability to work independently and stay organized with multiple concurrent tasks
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines while remaining flexible with changing priorities
- Ability to learn and adhere rigidly to NutritionFacts.org’s citation style and source referencing protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- Background or demonstrated experience in biomedical, health, or science-related topics
- Experience working on content for digital platforms (e.g., blogs, newsletters, social media)
- Familiarity with style guides and content standards
- Professional writing experience is helpful but not required
Location, Hours, & Benefits
The role is fully remote. We anticipate a steady workload of approximately 20 hours per week, with some fluctuation dependent on project cycles, with the potential for growth based on need and performance.
Part-time employees are eligible for health benefits.

Part-Time Junior Graphic Designer
Role
NutritionFacts.org is seeking a part-time Junior Graphic Designer to join our team.
The Junior Graphic Designer will work with the Design Director on the design and creation of graphics for our website, social media, public documents, and more.
The ideal Junior Graphic Designer has between 1-3 years of design experience and will be responsible for maintaining brand cohesion, using the most up to date design tools and software, and partnering with the Design Director to ideate and create new and fresh looks for our materials.
Time Commitment
This is a 20-hour/week role. The Junior Graphic Designer must be available for daytime meetings and communications, though the specific hours are flexible. They will work with the Design Director to plan and maintain a reliable part-time schedule.
Location/Compensation
This is an entirely remote position. The position is paid hourly at a rate of $30 per hour for an average of 20 hours per week. Health benefits are available.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizing various programs and techniques to develop graphics for print, web, social media, and digital marketing purposes
- Creating assets from templates, including NutritionFacts.org video thumbnails and social media graphics
- Collaborating with the Design Director to strategize and complete projects for new initiatives, including web design projects, cohesive promotional campaigns, and planning/coordinating photo and video shoots
- Communicating clearly with other departments and staff members to ensure deliverables are meeting standards and expectations
- Maintaining a consistent visual brand identity across different initiatives and platforms
Requirements:
- Expert in Photoshop and Illustrator
- Proficient in InDesign, Figma, After Effects, and Premiere Pro
- Excellent typography skills
- Access to a personal computer (we will provide access to Adobe Creative Cloud)
- Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong and clear communication skills
- Ability and openness to gathering and synthesizing information from others, including deliverables requests at the beginning of a project and feedback during a project, to achieve a successful outcome
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Prompt communication via email and direct messaging
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and well-organized
- Commitment to the mission/goals of NutritionFacts.org
- Willing to take initiative to execute projects and explore new avenues for NutritionFacts.org’s graphic design efforts
Optional Qualifications:
- Asana/Project Management tool experience
