I love being a NutritionFacts volunteer. I started about three years ago as a Portuguese translator and, from the beginning, was delighted to imagine that I was collaborating with such a noble initiative to bring vital health information to people around the world. It inspires me to know that I can help to make reliable information, purely based on science, available and accessible to as many people as possible worldwide.

My favorite recipe: Mash two bananas with some ginger, cinnamon, and clove powder, and top with blueberries, chopped strawberries, and nuts.

  2. I’ve been trying to subscribe to for several months but the process fails each time. I used to be subscribed, but that itself failed. What do I do? I tried to email but my email program said that wasn’t a valid email address. Help!

    Thank You,

    1. Spring,

It is pouring rain where I am and it made me smile just seeing your name.

I almost didn’t come today after Dr Lisle’s comments from yesterday. Not doubting that Dr Greger and his volunteers actually read the studies. I think about How Not To Die and How Not To Diet and I think Dr Lisle was deeply unfair.

I just hate the snarky Whole Food Plant Based community sometimes.

And then Spring shows up polite and helpful and friendly and it is a hint of Spring before the ice cold Winter.

But from now on I will have solar power and the chill won’t affect me.

    2. I tried it again and I got this message: Oops! Something went wrong.
      Please try again later.
Is it because I’m using the opera browse?.
Can’t you just set me up?

    3. Hi spring03.
I used the Microsoft Edge browser and I got it to work. I got the intro videos and the recipe gift. It must have been the Opera browser.
Thank you. I’m looking forward to the email updates.

  3. Dr Greger,

I highly respect you and I do not believe that you would spend $50,000 for access to studies and then just do an abstract process.

It doesn’t make any sense at all. Not at all.

Your friend in having an opposing position, just did the worst process possible attacking the very spot that you planted your life calling.

I know that I am not anybody to you but I want you to ask them not to do that process again.

It is not my place to ask this but I felt threatened on your behalf and you are such a strong person but they did a process that I will have to evaluate and I don’t believe tha what was said is even possibly true.

I have read enough of your books to not believe it at all.

  4. Sorry for bringing it up. I don’t know whether you would have been told and I have never trusted a doctor probably in my whole life but you are someone I feel like I understand well enough to have a measure of trust and it breaks my heart that the WFPB community is like it is.

  5. I have been still evaluating things and Dr Greger describes an excruciatingly complex process of evaluation of.the data. Dr Lisle dismisses it as if Dr Greger is doing a shallow process and as if, rather than Dr Greger doing a rather exhaustive process for How Not To Diet which Dr Greger describes in his interviews, Dr Lidle describes it as if Dr Greger is just looking for titillating topics.

I have to evaluate both men because of how the topic came up but no matter what Dr Lisle was not fair in his assessments.

There is no way I could listen to both men talk about Dr Greger’s process and not see something seriously wrong with how Dr Lisle describes Dr Greger as a researcher and that is unkind at best when Dr Greger has worked so hard to gain a reputation specifically as someone who reads studies.

I don’t have access to the specific study to attempt to evaluate how each man processed the information but Dr Lisle did not give even one shred of evidence of his position and instead took a cheap shot against Dr Greger as a researcher.

I am not saying that Dr Greger will be right about every single thing but he talked about a process that is so complex and spoke humbly about the fact that he could make mistakes because of the big picture but Dr Lisle have a comparatively arrogant “I am right” without and evidence and then punched his opponent below the belt or talked behind his back.

That is where I am so far.

I am trying to be neutral but I hate bullies and I have always enjoyed Dr Lisle but I hated every sentence of that exchange.

Even if somehow he turns out to be right.

  6. I am angry with him.

You are “I go through all of the studies so you don’t have to” and you are explaining an utterly exhaustive process and he is going to hit you at your bread and butter and say that you don’t really read the studies.

The fact that you have described a process with about 200 doctors and people going physically to the library to get studies, I feel like these types of things add to the confusion and suspicion and lack of trust.

I do not need you to be perfect ever.

But it is your sincerity that I follow.

If you skipped a few of the ridiculously exhaustive processes with the videos and missed a fraudulent abstract, I wouldn’t even blink an eye because you are so sincere.

To me, this is about trying to build trust with the masses to save lives.

I should not be angry and I know that but I am working it through.

I will not go to bed angry and I will try to figure out why I am angry.

I guess it adds an extra level of things we can’t trust.

Your process already acknowledges what I already knew before I came here.

I can’t trust any of it. But to be a healthy person, I have to trust somethings.

  7. I’m looking for a super clean, sustainably sourced, algae based DHA supplement.
So far, the best one I can find is Wiley’s Catch Free. I’m just not loving that the softgel contains sorbitol and carrageenan. Any ideas?
